GOODWILL MESSAGE
From Director-General To
V.A.D.’s
A message of goodwill to all personnel under her command has been issued by Miss 11. Iris Crooke, Marton, the newlyappointed director-general of the Red Cross Voluntary Aid’ Detachments in New Zealand. The message is as follows : — ... , “To members of Voluntary Aid and Transport Detachments: —Upon my appointment as' your director-general, _ I wish to send you a message of greeting and goodwill. Great tasks and increasing responsibilities lie ahead of us, and I am confident that you will go forward to meet them in the same spirit of unselfish service which you have shown in the past. I feel that the best way of showing appreciation of Miss Tennent s untiring work for the New . Zealand Voluntary Aid movement will be to keep bright the high ideals of Red. Gross service which she .inspired. In time, I hope to have an opportunity of meeting you all. Meanwhile, I wish you and progress in your great work. Her Excellency, Lady Newull, is the new commander-in-chief, and Miss Crooke succeeds Miss E. P. Tennent, whose resignation on account of ill-health was accepted with regret at the recent Dominion conference of the Red Cross Society.
