Wellington v. Auckland On

Saturday

The management -committee of the Wellington Rugby Union last night completed arrangements for the match between the. Auckland and Wellington representative teams At Athletic Park, on Saturday next. Messrs. J. D. King and F. J. Tilyard were appointed managers of the Wellington team, and Mr. H. Murphy to look alter the interests of the Auckland fifteen. It was reported that the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady. Newall had. accepted invitations to attend the match. A curtain-raiser will be played at 1.30 p.m. between the two leading Air Force teams of the North Island, and the AitForce Band will play selections during the intervals. Lower Grade Championships.

Lower grade championships for the season were declared as.follows: —Junior grade, Upper Hutt; third grade, St. Patrick’s College Old Boys; fifth grade, Hutt; sixth grade, Hutt A. It was decided that Hutt and Petone should play off for the fourth grade championship on Saturday next. 1 Permission was granted to play the following matches: —September 5, Land and Income Tax v. State Advances Corporation, Prince of Wales Park,TO a.m.: September 12, Petone' aud Hutt Clubs field day, at Petone Recreation Ground; Eastbourne Club, field day and married v. single match.
