Despite tlic near approach of the Thames meeting at Paeroa on Saturday, only a restricted programme of work wan carried out at To Rapa this morning, when the going on the course proper, some 70ft. out from the rails, was very heavy and not conducive to fast times. Miss Cardine was doing better than Willie Pay over live furlongs In 1.94, the first half-mile being run in 54 1-5. It. was a useful effort, and Miss Cardine. who is engaged at Paeroa, worked pleasingly. Chary and Sir Dingle ran the same distance in 1 10 Gay Lilv. Volifox and Aguilo la 1.11. and Ladv Bloater and Kinvara in 1.11 1-5. Town Survey, Maxown and Aeqnest gave a smooth exhibition of jumping over three hurdles. Game Pit and Dark Rose shaped well over the brush double in front of the stands, and Gold Spot impressed in bls first school over country, negotiating the brush double, the sod wall by the half mile, and the following two brush obstacles. L C. Brown’s mounts on Saturday at Paeroa comprise Maxown. Gold Spot. De Friend. Young Paddon. Sir Dingle. Stylishman and Silver Note.
