FATAL COLLISION
One Man Killed, Four Others Injured MEMBERS OF HOME GUARD (By Telegraph Press Assocuiiloti • AUCKLAND, July 30. . One man was killed and four others injured, one critically, when rhe car in which they were returning from Drury to Bombay at 8 o’clock tonight, was involved in a head-on collision with a Franklin Electric Power Board truck on the Main South Hoad, a quarter of a mile south of the Auckland Infirmary at Drury. The' men were returning from a Home Guard meeting at Drury. The victims were:— Killed. . Lieutenant K. W. Brenuier, farmer, Drury, adjutant of the Drury Home Guard. Injured. Major W. J. Brookes, storekeeper, Drury, in command of the Drury section, severe leg injuries. Three others are also being brought to Auckland Hospital, and one is reported to lie in a grave condition. Lieutenant Bremner was driving the car. Extensive damage was done to the car and the driver’s side was stove right in. The driver of the power board truck was unhurt and his vehicle was only slightly damaged.
