UNUSUAL ACCIDENT
Man In Serious Condition The victim of an unusual accident while painting a ship, Mr. G. Gray, seaman, 18 Oriental Terrace, lies in a serious condition in Wellington Public Hospital. Mr. Gray was standing on a plank staging slung overside.of the vessel, which was lying at a wharf. A piece of timber slipped, it is stated, from a eling of cargo passing from the ship to the wharf and struck him on the head. In a dazed condition, he lost his balance and fell into the sea between the wharf and the ship. He was quickly rescued from the water by men nearby, and was taken to the hospital by the Free Ambulance suffering from a head injury, concussion, partial drowning, and severe ghoefe.
