"QUIETER MEETING” OF PACIFIC COUNCIL
All Fronts Reviewed ALEUTIANS AND SIBERIAN POSITIONS (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Received July 30, 7 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 29. After a 90-minute session of the Pacific War Council, the Canadian member, Mr. McCarthy, said: “It was one of our quieter meetings.” The members discussed technical questions concerning the Pacific area, particularly the Aleutians. These discussions were interesting, he said, but he could not divulge any information. Attention was given also to other war fronts, and the Siberian situation was discussed. Mr. McCarthy distinguished Siberia from the other parts, pointing out that Siberia was not yet a war front—a distinction which arose* when a reporter asked if the Siberian front.was considered part of the Pacific front. The Australian member, Sir Owen Dixon, said the Australian situation was mentioned, though nothing in particular had developed with regard to this area. , Tlie Dutch representative, Mr. Loudon, said technical questions concerning tlie Netherlands Indies were discussed. Mr. Soong, the Chinese member, said there was the customary general review and analysis of all theatres, but nothing in .particular regarding China, Egypt or Russia. In the absence of Mr. Nash, New Zealand was represented by Mr. Geoffrey Cox, who did not comment. t
