SPECIAL DANCE

St. Patrick's Gymnasium Committee A special dance livid by Hie St. Patrick’s College Gymnasium Committee in the Brougham Street As semlily Hall. Wellington, last night was attended by more than 30U dancers. among whom were many old boys of tlie college now in training witli the Army or the Air Force. Tlie dance was thoroughly enjoyable and many jireparttlions were made to ensure its success. The college colours, royal blue and ■white, dominated the decorative scheme. A blue and white canopy transformed the entrance and the comfortably-arranged corner for the official iiarty was also decorated with tlie colours. Beautiful tlowers about the hall added a further touch of colour, being mostly rhododendrons, irises, poppies and stocks.

A soft-drinks stall was in the charge of college boys, and a good orchestra played bright music for dancing. Air. J. Doolan was AI.C., assisted by Mr. AL Morgan.

Tlie official party comprised the chaperones. Alesdatnes R. O’Regan, D. Aladden, Chapman. B. F. Kelly, and N. Goodson; Mr. AieCarthy (Hawera). the Rev. Father Kennedy, rector of St. Patrick's College, Silverstreaui, Father Lysaght, rector of St. Patrick’s College. 'Wellington, Father Cleary, chairman of the dance committee; the Rev. Dr. Gilhooly. representing the Archbishop’s house, aud the Rev. leather Heavy, administrator of St. Joseph’s. Tlie committee responsible for organizing tlie dance consisted of Misses P. O'Connor, Joyce Rogers, P. AlcGahy. Messrs J. Doolan, Al. Kennedy, and E. Todd and Aliss AL Daniel (joint secretaries). The supper committee comprised Airs. Kidd, Airs. Sheldrake, and Aliss A. Smith.
