PAPER ECONOMY

Butchers’ Request

I By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 12.

As a means of economizing in paper, the Auckland Master Butchers' Association has prepared notices, which will be posted in shops throughout the city and suburbs, inviting customers to bring baskets or bags when calling for meat. It has long been the custom in shops to wrap meat first in grease-proof paper and then in brown paper. Because of the general shortage and the difficulty in obtaining supplies, it has become necessary to ask customers, wherever possible to bring their own containers, so that only a single paper wrapping will be required.
