University Tournament At Wellington MATCH WITH 3RD ECHELON Fixtures for the coining season were discussed last night by the Wellington Hockey Association at its executive meeting. , , , The New Zealand University hockey tournament is to be held in Wellington from May 22 to 25, ami will end with a match between the New Zealand University and Wellington representative teams. The annual representative match against Manawatu for the Cliff Shield will be played in Palmerston North on June 12. The manager of the_ Wellington team will be Mr. C. P. McKenzie. Five representative games will be played in Christchurch on August 17, the teams participating being senior A and B, secondary and primary schools, and the Wellington executive, which will play ils annual match against the Canterbury executive, for the Braithwaite At the request of the Wellington Patriotic Committee it was decided to hold a representative senior B match against, n team from the third echelon at the Basin Reserve on June 3, proceeds to be devoted to the Wellington Patriotic Fund. . The decision of the University Hockey Association to play no shield fixtures during the war was discussed, and the Wellington association decided that it was opposed to this policy. 'The association decided to lend £2OO to the Government free of interest for the duration of the war. The following were appointed selectors for the season: —Senior A, Mr. I. Spiers; senior B, Mr. IT. Jensen; junior, Mr. A. Kirk; secondary schools, Mr. 1,. Hobson; primary schools, Mr. G. Reid.
