MAN’S BODY FOUND IN MOTOR-CAR
Tube Leading From Exhaust Dominion Special Service. HASTINGS, May 8. The finding of a ear with a rubber tube leading from the exhaust into the interior of the vehicle led to Ihe discovery by a young Elsthorpe farmer of the body of a man inside. Though identification is not definitely confirmed, t'.he driver’s licence and other papers in his possession furnished evidence for the belief that it was the body of Heathcote Everartf Farr, 49 Thompson Street, Wellington. He was a commercial traveller employed by Modern Lingerie, Ltd. The car was seen parked on the side of the Elsthorpe road about 10 miles beyond Havelock North by Mr. Trevor Franklyn tit about midnight last night. At that time he took little notice of it, but when it was still there at 8.15 bis morning he became suspicions. As lie rode past on horseback he noticed a piece of rubber tubing leading from Hie exhaust. Constable I!. Farquharsmi. Havelock North, found the. body in the front seat. The engine was switched on. but was not running, there being no petrol or oil in the ear. It. is presumed that death occurred- some hours before the body was fowud.
