FISHING LAUNCH SAFE

Found Seven Miles South Of Manawatu Heads GEARBOX DISABLED Dominion Special Service. FOXTON, May 7. The fishing launch Madge, which had been missing from Foxtoil since Friday, was located off Waitarcre Beach, seven miles south of tlie Manawatu Heads, this morning by the motor-ship Hokitika, and her crew, Messrs. C. Jensen, A. E. Sands and T. Sands were safe. The launch had been off Waitarere since Friday with a disabled gearbox. On receipt of the information the pilot launch of the Foxton Harbour Board left port at 7 o’clock tonight in charge of Captain J. Bald, who was accompanied by Captain Thomson, of the scow Huaiiui. The state of tlie tide prevented tlie 'launch leaving earlier. The launch returned at 11 p.m. will) the Madge in tow. The Madge was out of fresh water, though she had plenty of food, and the Hokitika, which was en route from Foxton to Wellington supplied the crew with two gallons. The launch received a severe buffeting during tlie heavy weather on Sunday.

Captain A. Nalder, of tbe Hokitika, said tlie launch was sheltering off the coast when lie sighted it. He offered to tow tlie Madge to Kapiti, but Mr. Jensen said be would be able to reach tbe river with two oars, which were given him. ■
