FOUR MEN LOST IN BUSH
Went Pig - Shooting On Sunday Morning THREE SEARCH PARTIES OUT (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 7. Three parties combed heavy bush on the Kaimai Ranges all day in' a vain search for four men, who have been missing since they left Matamata on a pig-shooting expedition on Sunday morning. The only trace found of the missing men was some apple peelings deep h: the bush. Men are still searching and will spend tonight in the bush. Tlie search is at present under the leadership of Mr. Joseph Smith, an experienced bushman, with a number of Maori guides. Another search party will leave for the ranges tomorrow,
under the leadership of Mr. W. Douglas, and tlie other three parties will be given some relief. It is hoped that weather conditions will permit tlie use of an aeroplane from Rotorua aerodrome in the search. At 'present there is still mist about and in tlie bush conditions arc wet and cold, with tlie ground being very heavy. Maoris were the only searchers who were able to light a fire.
