Universities In New Zealand
g[r,—On reading throfigh the results of the students’ degrees issued today’s “Dominion,” I noticed Otago University referred to as “Otago University College.” Would you please inform me through your paper if this is_ correct? I have always understood it to be called tlie “University of Otago” and the onlv University in New Zealand, and would like to know why the word “College” is included. —I am, etc.. INTERESTED.
Wellington, May 4. [“lnterested” is correct in her understanding of the title of “University of Otago,” but not in her assumption that it is the only University in the Dominion. There is the University of New Zealand, primarily an examining body, of which the University of Otago. Auckland University College, Victoria University College, Canterbury University College, Massey Agricultural College and Canterbury Agricultural College are constituents.] ,
