ETERNAL MESSAGE

‘•The Bible is the ‘book of books’ unparallelled in all literature,” said Pastor V. C. Stafford, at the Vivian Street Church of Christ. The Bible had God for its Author, and His work of creation, providence and redemption for its theme. Christ was central to the Scriptures, the testimony of Jesus was the spirit of prophecy. It was proved by its remarkable unity and harmony, its fulfilled prophecies, its unique standards of morality, the incomparable character of Jesus, its beneficieut influence in the world to be what it claimed to be —the word of God. It was eternal life to all who received Its message. To the individual it was Indeed a lamp to the feet and a light to the pathway of life. No home could be truly happy where the Bible was not read and loved and lived. No educational system could be complete

that did not include the teaching of the Bible to the young. No nation had real security which did not build on the foundational principles of Christianity revealed therein. The greatest present need in New Zealand was to become a Bi'ble-reading people, and to follow the truth it proclaimed.
