Award Made By Court MASTERS AND OFFICERS The New Zealand Ships’ .Masters and Officers (Coastal Shipping Companies) Award was issued by the Court of Arbitration yesterday. The wage scale is made retrospective to February 17 last, the date of the hearing of the case before the Court.. The Court Ims settled the clauses relating to wages, overtime, and the term of the award. In other respects it embodies, with minor alterations agreed to at the bearing, the recommendations arrived at by the assessors in Conciliation Council. The minimum wage rates a calendar month are: (a) Vessels of from 101 to GOO tons gross register: Master, £42 11/8; chief officer. £27/11/8; second officer, £23/11/8: third officer,. £23/1/8. (b) Vessels of from 601 to .1000 tons gross register: Master, £44/11/8; chief officer, £2B/11/8; second officer, £24 11/8; third officer, £23/1/8. Except as otherwise provided all duty performed in addition to or outside of the ordinary hours of duty is to be paid for at the rate of 3/11 an hour. Section I of the award applies to: Holm Shipping Co., Ltd., Wellington; Gisborne Sheep-farmers’ Frozen Meat Co., Ltd., Gisborne; Richardson and Co., Ltd., Napier; South Taranaki Shipping Co., Ltd., Patea: The Anchor Shipping and Foundry Co., Ltd., Nelson; The Canterbury Steam Shipping Co., Ltd., Christchurch; The Coastal Shipping Co., Ltd., 'Wellington; The Colonial Sugar-refining Co., Ltd., Auckland; The Eekford Shipping Co., Ltd., Blenheim. ■Section 2 applies to Auckland extended river-limit excursion vessels.
