Miss D. Cotter gave an interesting talk on institute matters. The points prize for the year were: Flowers: Mrs. Hadfield, .1; .Mrs. Sterling, 2. Vegetables: Mrs. Strand, 1: Mrs’ Dewar. 2. Competition (best bloomi: Airs. Harris, Mrs. Hadfield. Bost six beans-: Mrs. Strand, Miss It. Clarkson. Best jar fruit: .Mrs. G. Maclean, Miss K. Uia rkson. Olianui. At the sixth annual meeting. Alts. Bruce presided over a large attendance. 'Pile following otlicers were elected: — President. All's. Bruce; secretary, Aliss Ahradsen; treasurer. Mrs. Bryant; committee, Alesdaines Ahradsen, Best. Beech and AlcKay. Kahutara. Visitors from Parkvale were welcomed by the president. Mrs. McKenna, and delegates to allend the federal ion in Altmtorton next mouth were appointed. Ollicers elected for rhe year were: President, Mrs. .McKenna ; secretary. Miss Hood: treasurer, Mrs. Duffy: vice-presidents, .Mesdames Harvey and A kerma n ; librarian, Mrs. Humphries; tea secretary, Ali-s. Harvey; competition secretary, Airs. Harland; Press correspondent, Aliss Corlet.; committee, Alesdames McKenn.'i. Harvey, Akerman. A. Cole, Duffy, Fenwick, Hood, Pope, Rogers, AVilson, Welsh. Harland, Humphries, and Aliss Hood. The points prize for the year was won by Airs. D. Wilson. Pirittoa. Officers elected were:, President, Mrs. A. Spicer; secretary, Airs. J. Priest; treasurer, Airs. Lovegrove; committee, Alesdames Carter, Hanlon, Priest, AlcLeod, Staveley, Mclntosh, jun., Sutton, Serimagoiir. Lovegrove, Gray. Airs. Staveley spoke on the good work of the retiring president, Aliss Hanlon, who had held office for four years. Aliss Hanlon and Aliss McKenzie presented a banner for the institute. Pori rua. Airs. Thorpe, Levin, conducted the election of officers, the following being appointed: President, Airs. L. Thompson; secretary, Airs. A. Wright: committee, Alesdames Ryan, Briggs, W. Philip, J. Philip, Stewart, Johnstone, Findlater, and Lambert.
Airs. Thorpe gave a helpeful talk on the duty of officers and members generally, and was presented with a bouquet and shoulder-spray. Airs. Hume (federation president) and Airs. Clarke (Plimmerton I, who presided during the ballot, also received Howers. Airs. Ryan received a basket of flowers and ■ each retiring committee member was presented with a shoulder-spray. One new member was welcomed. A. competition was won by Airs. Ryan, with Airs. Hume second. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Alesdames Campbell, Findlater, Evans and B. Smith.
