The Dominion Monarch
The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Dominion Monarch cleared Sydney Heads on her way to V elliiigton at 11 o’clock on Tuesday night, says a message received from "The Dominion’s’’ special representative aboard. An official luncheon was held on board on Tuesday. "Never in our history has there been greater need for the speediest and most efficient seaborne traffic between the centre of the Empire and the Dominions than there is today,” said the Minister of Transport, Mr. Bruxner. This great ship epitomised the faith, vision, and capacity of the British people. The Lord Mayor, Alderman Nock, supporting the toast of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line, paid it tribute to the enterprise of the company and wished the ship the greatest success in the new Empire service. Lord Gowriei Governor-General, and Lord Wukehurst, Governor of New South Wales, inspected the liner in the morning. The ship attracted great interest in Sydney.
