Senior Engineering Staff NEW APPOINTMENTS MADE The retirement of senior engineering officials in the Post and Telegraph Department has made necessary several new appointments and promotions. These were announced yesterday. All of them are to date from April 1. Mr. P. V. R. C. Miles, superintending engineer, General Post Office, has been appointed chief engineer, G.P.O. Mr. P. IL Mason, district engineer, Auckland, has been appointed deputy chief engineer, G.P.O. Mr. A, H. Coles, district engineer, Wellington, has been appointed superintending engineer, G.P.0., and Mr. M. A. Pike, district engineer, Dunedin, is transferred to a similar position iu Wellington. Mr. E. 11. R. Green, radio engineer, G.P.0., has been appointed superintending engineer (radio and transmission), G.P.O. Mr. A. D. Baggs, telegraph engineer, Auckland, has been promoted to the position of district engineer, Auckland.

Mr. W. M. B. Veitch, G.P.0., has been appointed district engineer, Dunedin. Mr. E. Walpole has been transferred from Napier to the position of telegraph engineer (automatic), G.P.0., and Mr. J. C. Greig has been transferred from Gisborne to be telegraph engineer, Wellington.
