AMBULANCE ROOMS

Exhibition Provision Inspected The commissioner of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, Mr. F. W. Ward, accompanied by the corps surgeon, Dr. G, Kemp; Mr.' F. Elvines, corjis ■superintendent, and Mr. C. Meachen, secretary of the 'St. John Ambulance Association, visited the exhibition grounds recently with a representative of the Centennial Exhibition Company, to inspect the accommodation whicli has been made available bv the company. Gratification was expressed at the facilities which have been placed at the disposal of the association in the way of ambulance rooms for dealing with injury during the exhibition period. The rooms are easily accessible and the whole area of the grounds will be patrolled day and night by members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, nursing and ambulance divisions. Great interest is being taken this year by the general public in first-aid work, and more than 380 candidates, men and women, have been enrolled for the classes. This total includes members of the Tararua and Paua Tramping Clubs, highways and city traffic inspectors, school teachers. policemen, and many others. The first-aid instruction is carried out by members of the Honorary Instructors’ Association, and. the lectures are given by members of the medical profession.
