JOHNSONVILLE MOTHERS
Visitor's Programme At League Meeting The March meeting of the Johnsonville branch of the League of Mothers, took the form of a soc-ial afternoon. Mrs. Hogg extended a warm welcome to all visitors, including parties from the Petone branch and Lyall. Bay. Mrs. Millward, president of the Petone branch, with the Petone choir, provided the items for the afternoon. Solos were given by Mesdames Millward, Coleman, and Glover and elocutionary items by Mrs. Miller. The choir gave delightful numbers, and a playette “April Showers” was enjoyed, those taking part being Mesdames Miller, Rowe, I-loolor, Wray, Porter and Jones.
Mrs. Millward was presented with a bouquet and the members of the party with floral sprays. Mrs. Walsh thanked Mrs. Millward for bringing her members to the Johnsonville branch and hoped that one day Johnsonville would reciprocate with a programme. Two competitions were held during the afternoon. Afternoon tea was served, and the singing of the National Anthem brought a pleasant afternoon to a close. The hall had been artistically decorated by Mesdames Trickett and Wilson.
