OFFICE SAFE ROBBED
Between £4O And £45 In Cash Stolen Dominion Special Service. HASTINGS, March 18. After forcing an entry into the premises of Mr. J. B. Fletcher, Heretauiiga Street, Hastings, last night, intruders thoroughly ransacked the premises and discovered the key to the safe. The safe was .then given the same treatment, and the thieves deeamped with between £4O and £45 iu uotc»‘ aud change. Entry was effected by forcing a fanlight at the rear of the premises. The burglary was not discovered till this morning on the arrival of the staff.
It has also beeu reported that iu the early hours of this morning two young men' were disturbed in an office iu Kararnu Road, where they were attempting to open the strongroom. However, the key used would not fit tlie strongroom door.
