WANGANUI TROTS
Prospects For Today (By Overcheck.) The Wanganui Trotting Club has received very good acceptances for its meeting today, and there is every reason to hope for a highly successful day. A number of horses about whom little is known will be seen in action, and some of them may be capable of beating betterfancied candidates.
The Wanganui Handicap has a useful field of 10 engaged, of whom Ropata, Transwell and Baron Alfonso will possibly be accorded most support. Ropata raced well at the recent Wellington meeting, and Transwell ran second to Parauri at Thames. Betting will be on the single pool system. Horses likely to be well supported are: Kirkwood Handicap: Shirley’s Pal, Frontier Boy and Air Pilot. Innovation Handicap: Narbada, Loyalette and Golden Star. Eastbrook Handicap: Tristan and Rere Oro. Waifganui Handicap: Ropata, Transwell and Baron Alfon>so. 'President’s Handicap: Leeleeta, Frontier Boy and Count Parrish. Autumn Handicap: Popeye, Golden Star and Narbada. Foster Handicap: Te Roto, Juliana and Orleigh Mills. Morton Handicap: Ropata, Tangaroa and Effie Parrish. The card is as follows:—
