DOLLAR EXCHANGE
4 Quoted in New Zealand Currency By Bank Dominion Special Service. Auckland, January 31. A departure from the accepted custom has been made by the Bank of New South Wales in Auckland by quoting United States and. Canadian dollars in terms of New Zealand currency, and not sterling. It is understood this step is being taken by the bank throughout New Zealand. The banks have always quoted foreign exchange in terms of sterling, and importers have generally been accustomed to this method. Direct quotation eliminates the second conversion calculation, and it is no doubt inspired by the stabilising of the London-New Zealand exchange'rate.
