Manawatu River Victim POLICE SECURE CLUE Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, January 31. The body of the middle-aged man, which was found in fhe Manawatu River just south of the new Fitzheribert bridge on January 14, has not yet been identified. It is believed that the body is that of a man who bought a suit, shirt, hat and braces at Taihape early in December. The police are now inquiring if a parcel of old clothes was left at any Palmerston North boardinghouse’ as the man was dressed in old clothes when he made his purchases. The clothier who made the sale states that the man was about. 58 years of age, of medium build and about sft. Gin. in height. He bad brovn hair, a close-cropped moustache tinged with grey and touches of grey in his hair. He had a swarthy complexion.
