MISSING CAMPER
Friends Still Searching
By Telegraph—Press Association, Masterton, January 31. The whereabouts of Harold Goodman, who left his home in Greytown over five weeks ago on a lone camping holiday in the Waiohine Gorge, still remains a mystery. Although the search organised by the Wellington tramping clubs was withdrawn over a week ago, relatives and friends continue to comb the region. Intermittent trips into the ranges by Greytown search parties iiave been made during the past week, but ail investigations have been fruitless. The mystery is growing deeper all the time, as absolutely no clue of Goodman’s whereabouts has been found. There is nothing to suggest that he went elsewhere, as he wore his oldest clothing and carried no money with him. His account in the local bank has not been operated upon. Not being a tea drinker, Goodman took no tea with him, but was provided with marmite, which he intended to boil up as drink. It would therefore be assumed that he had occasion to light fires, but the strange fact is that no trace of any have been found.
