TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD
Meeting at Palmerston North The first meeting of the year of the Palmerston North Townswomen’s Guild was held on Monday afternoon. The mayoress, Mrs. A. E. Mansford, presided. The hostesses for the afternoon were M.esdaines M. A. Spraggon and H. Palmer. The following musical programme was presented:— Vocal solos, “0, Flower of Love,” and “Annie Laurie,” Mrs. Findlay, Mrs. B. F. Barlow being accompanist; musical monologues, “The Little Bottom Drawer” and “Jest Her Way,” Miss M. Cranston; vocal solos, “At Eventide” and “Life is a Fine Thing,” Miss Lexie McDonald: ’cello solos, “Harlequinade” (Squire) and “Meditation” (Squire), by Miss G. McKenzie, Mrs. McNeilly actin'g as accompanist", violin solos, “Oorrente” (Eccles) and “Trees” (Joyce Kilmer), Miss J. Findlay, with Mrs. Barlow as accompanist. • The afternoon tea hostesses were Mesdames AV. Mouldey, AV. F. Field, AV. S. AVoodroofe, 11. L. Ilartog and Miss‘Buchanan.
