February 21 : Taranaki championships, New Plymouth. March 7: New Zealand championships, Auckland. Inter-club Matches. Beautiful weather again favoured croquet players for inter-club matches. Following are the results: — A Grade. —Kelburn 2v. Hutt: Mrs. Ballinger and Mrs. Todd beat Mrs. Piper and Miss Macaskill. 26-20; Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. Graham lost to Mrs. Teagle and Miss Wilkens. 21-26. Lyall Bay v. Wairaarie 2: Mrs. Hallam and Mrs. Liddell beat Mrs. Exton and Mrs. Campbell, 2622: Mrs. Tasker and Mrs. Adams lost to Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Mitchell, 23-26. Ngaroma v. Waimarie: Mi's. and partner beat Mrs. Norris and Mrs. V 26-16. Central v. Wellington : Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Bell beat Miss Clark and Miss Bates, 26-16. Central defaulted to Mrs. Billing and Mrs. Priddle. Kelburn v. Woburn : Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Wilson beat Woburn, 26-17; Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Willis beat B Grade. B Grade. —Seatoun v. Waimarie ; Mrs. ■ McAnally and Mrs. Robbins lost to Mrs. Vaughan and Mrs. Flux, 24-23; Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Bedford beat Mrs. Hadwin and Mrs. Sturt, 26-20. Kelburn v. Mount Victoria : Mrs. Robertson and Mrs. Long beat Miss Pole and Miss M. Jordon. Ngaio v. Woburn : Mrs. McArthur and Mrs. Chatwin beat Woburn, 26-12; Mrs. Furness and Mrs. Clark lost to Woburn, 16-26. Pollock Stars. The Pollock Stars were played for on Monday, when Mesdames Greig and Harper (Upper Hutt) successfully challenged the holders, Mesdames Chetwin and Pritchard (Kelburn). The game was a long one, owing to a very keen lawn and a treacherous wind blowing, which often took the balls to the boundary. With the exception of Mrs. Greig there were no breaks made. Mrs. Greig making a break of 5. The final score in favour of Upper Hutt was 26-17. ' McKenzie Cups. The Ngaroma club was again successful in defending the McKenzie Cups. Mesdames Millar and Sivyers are a very strong combination. The challengers were Mesdames Baker and Baillie, of the Wellington club. The bowel's proved much too strong for the challengers, the final score being 26-7. The Association Ferns. The Association Ferns will be played for to-day on the Wellington lawns, when the holders, Mesdames Ramsay and Billing, will meet the Ngaroma players. Gold Mallets. The tournament for the gold and silver mallets has been the centre of attraction for croquet players for the past 10 days, and some excellent croquet was witnessed. Mrs. D. C. Henderson, of the ■Wellington club, was the winner, with Mr. C. Bryan, Palmerston North, runnerup, winning the silver mallets. Mrs. Manton (Wellington) also played exceedingly well, winning 9 games and losing 4, just missing the finals. Mrs. Hogan (Wellington) ’ and Mrs. Flint (Karori) also played very well with 7 wins and 6 losses. The latter in her game against Mrs. Walker lost by only one point. Club Champions. The follolving clubs have just completed their championship matches: In the Hutt club Mrs. Bock is the A champion and Mrs. Ayson .the runner-up. In the intermediate section Mrs. Teagle is the champion. Miss Macaskill runnerup. In the Ngaio club Mrs. Hills has won the intermediate championship. The runner-up is still to be decided. In the Wellington club Mrs. Manton is the A champion, having won all her games. Mrs. Henderson is the runner-up. International Championships.
