ATTITUDE TO DEFENCE
Socialists in Europe Lucerne, January 27. Tlie Swiss Socialist Party voted by 362 to 294 iu favour of a policy of national defence, thereby aligning themselves with the Belgian and Dutch Socialists and abandoning the pacifist standpoint against armaments and militarisation. This change of policy is attributed to the trend of events in Germany.
