SUMMER FLOWERS
List of Prize-winners at Brooklyn Show The Brooklyn Horticultural Society held its summer show on Saturday, The number of entries, which exceeded those of the last summer show, included a large number of gladioli. Tlie president, Mr. H. Beavis, made special mention of the high quality of gladioli, and said great credit was due to the growers for their efforts during a particularly difficult season. The champion bloom was “Lisbeth,’ - exhibited by Mrs. Askwith. Mr, Rice was the most successful competitor, ob taining the president’s trophy for most points. Other trophy winners were:— Gladioli. Mrs. W. M. Jackson, junr.; vegetables, Mr. Harcourt; pot plants, Mrs. Fouhy; home section. Mrs. Porteous; ladies’ decorative, Mrs. Aston. Points prizes were won as follow: — Sweet peas, Mr. Snowden; pansies and violas, Mr, Barrow; dahlias, Mrs. Donovan ; miscellaneous, Mr. Everitt.
