Greater Authority For Government BANK INTEREST RATES (Received Januarj- 25, 7.30 p.m.i Berlin, January 24. Cabinet has approved important measures curtailing the independence of Nazi administrators in various States and increasing the Central Government’s authority. The Reich now controls the administration of justice throughout the States and provinces. The Nazi Party is given greater power in local Government . dministration. Cabinet approved Dr. Schacht's Bill reducing bank interest rates order to assist trade. Provision is made for Saar representation in the Reichstag. The Berlin correspondent of “The Times,” a London cable states, says that Cabinet adopted Herr Frick’s proposal for establishing regional governors appointed by Herr Hitler as the heads of regional governments. MORE BARTER PACTS Germany Extends System (Received Januarj- 25, 11.30 p.m.) Berlin, Januarj' 25. Germany’s latest barter arrangements include an exchange of articles manufactured in Austria for 1000 trucks of Argentine wheat, German rails, engines and the carriages for Greek dried fruits and oil. Persia is arranging to import German motor-cars against carpets, while Egypt is negotiating to exchange oranges for German coal. Some German newspapers now make a regular feature of barter advertisements.
