“Ten-Minute Alibi”
T"-. dramatic critic of the "New Zealand Herald” writes as follow’s about “Ten Minute Alibi,” the J. C. Williamson play at present being ■presented in Auckland“No better entertainment of its type could be imagined than that provided’by Anthony Armstrong’s mystery play. "Ten Minute Alibi,’ which opened its Auckland season in His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday night. Productions bearing the full J. C. Williamson hallmark, as distinct from 'presentations by arrangement,’ have been' exceedingly rare in the past few years. Although that rarity may give a touch of added glamour to a J. C. Williamson’s first night, the fact remains that the firm’s latest offering succeeds entirely on its merits. The play is a finely wrought piece of theatrical craftsmanship and its smoothness is matched in the brilliant playing of a uniformly competent cast.” The leading man, Mr. George Thirlwell. an English actor, is described as giving “an impeccable performance.”
