Coming to Wellington Messrs. J. C. Williamson. Jjtd., state it is most difficult to convey any real idea of the compelling charm of Mr. Frank Neil's new International Variety-Revue Company, which has been chosen to inaugurate the 1935 season in New Zealand, and which is to open at the Grand Opera House, commencing with a matinee, on Saturday next. The whole entertainment. it is said, is distinguished by the clever blending of variety turns and acts with tlie latest London revue, “New Faces.” In addition to the gorgeous scenes and ballets there are some beautiful lighting effects. The artists, all new to New Zealand, include : Nice. Florio, and Bulow, from the Palace Theatre, New York: Joey Porter, from the Palladium. London ; Hope and Ray. from the Casino de Paris; Alex. Hall, from the. Wintergarden. Berlin; Lc, Diamondos. from the Folies Bergeres, Paris; the three Ambassadors, front the Alhambra. London: McDonald and Grahame, front the Zeigfeld Follies. New York; Grace Hartigan, front Daly’s Theatre, London. Matinee performances will be given on Wednesday and Saturday, commencing at 2.15. Tlie box plans will bo opened at the 'D.T.C. ou Wednesday next.
