An Unwarranted Attack
Sir,—l have read with shame the correspondence of abuse that has been heaped upon a section of Wellington business people. It is rather a glaring coincidence that this outburst of abuse tell upon the barbers as a whole so closely upon the increase of their fees. If anyone had suffered death or injury as a result of "one of these dirty places” it would be in the public interest to expose and punish the person responsible.' But nothing has happened, only this painful increase in fees, and all this epistolary venom. Wellington is fortunate in its health inspectors, and in the good general health of the community. As one who is well acquainted with even the “slum saloons,” I feel certain this attack is unwarranted.—l am. etc. EX-AUCKLANDITE. Palmerston North, January 9.
