CARPENTER INJURED

Scaffold Collapses

The collapse of a scaffold upon which he was working at the establishment of Todd Motors Ltd. at Petone caused Mr. L. Double, carpenter, of 4 Wakefield Street, Lower Hutt, to receive a broken left ankle, an injury to his right ankle and shock. The accident happened yesterday afternoon. He was taken to the hospital by the Free Ambulance.

Mr. W. R. Scantlebury, master mariner, 64 Roseneath Terrace, was taken to hospital by the ambulance yesterday afternoon with a broken leg and severe shock. While he was digging a trench at Miramar a side fell in. Traffic Inspector Charles Hood had an accident with his motorcycle at Brooklyn yesterday afternoon. He received concussion and wounds to his scalp and left elbow. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance, but was able to go home later in the day.
