ATHLETIC TOUR

i British and Finnish Teams The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association is still negotiating with the Victorian authorities in regard to the proposed visit to New Zealand by the British team, at present en route to, Australia, and also as to the possibility of the Finnish athletes who have been invited to Australia as well coming on to New Zealand later. The financial terms at first suggested by the Victorian A.A.A. in respect of the British team were regarded by the Council of the New Zealand Association as being altogether too high. Fresh terms have now been received, and the position, though not yet determined, is-stated to be a little more hopeful. So far the council has not discussed the latest offer. Some weeks ago a . tentative itinerary was drafted providing for the arrival of the British athletes in the Dominion about the middle of next month and for their departure on March 6.
