WEDDINGS
Mclntosh—Hayman The wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Martinborough, 011 Thursday, of Keetba Belle, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Hayman, and William John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mclntosh, Morrison’s Bush, Greytown. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frock of ivory peter-pan crepe, and carried a beautiful bouquets of lilies and maidenhair fern, with touches of tulle. She was attended by her two sisters, Misses Beryl and Kygne Hayman, wearing frocks of salmon, and blue sand crepe respectively, and carried bouquets of pink and blue hydrangeas and maidenhair fern.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Douglas Lamb, Martinborough, as best man, and Mr. Edward Montgomerie, Greytown, as groomsman. Mrs. Hayman, mother of the bride, wore a navy ensemble and navy hat. Mrs. Mclntosh, mother of the bridegroom, wore a 1 frock of brown and hat to tone. The happy couple left later for the south. Their future home will be at Motueka. * * Aldrich—Allen The Presbyterian Church, Eketahuna, was decorated with gold and green foliage and dahlias shading from gold to orange, on the occasion of the marriage of Eve Mary, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Allen, Eketa-
huna’, to Henry Stanhope, second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. ,S. Aldrich, Takapan, and grandson of Mr. A. S. Aldrich, flrst Consul for Japan to New Zealand. The Rev. John Davie, Masterton, was rhe officiating minister, and Miss Marguerite Wilson presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory embossed crepe georgette, with cowl neckline, and the flared skirt forming a train. Her veil was arranged with a tiny tulle cap and she carried a sheaf of white lilies and gladioli. Miss Myra Billens, Palmerston North, the bride’s cousin, and the bridegroom’s elder sister, Miss Dorothy Aldrich, Wellington, attended her, wearing frocks of pale gold floral net, over deeper gold silk slips. The chief maid’s frock had a Victorian shoulderline and flared from the knees in narrow frills, and her hat was of net. The second maid’s frock had short sleeves and one deep frill with niched edging, while her hat was in a lighter shade. Both bridesmaids carried posies of gold-coloured flowers with silver leaves, and wore gauntlets with folds of net.
Mr. R. W. McKee, Dannevirke, was best man, and Mr. Robert Aldrich, the bridegroom’s brother, was groomsman. A reception was later held in the public hall, where Mrs. Allen, the bride’s mother, wearing a dress of blackberry coloured lace, black hat, and carrying a posy to tone, received the guests. Mrs. Aldrich, the bridegroom’s mother, was dressed in brown lace, with a short brown silk coat and brown hat. Her posy was of apricot shaded flowers. Later Mr. and Mrs. H, S. Aldrich left by car for Wanganui, en route to Rotorua and Auckland. The bride travelled in a moss green ensemble with white hat, gloves, bag, and kid sandals. Their future home will be at Hamilton. Andrew—Dennis Pink, white and blue hydrangeas were used to deeorate St. Albans Church, 'Wanganui East, on December 18 for the wedding of Muriel, younger daughter of Mr. L. T. Dennis and the late Mrs. Dennis, Wanganui, and Jeffery, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Andrew, also of Wanganui. The Rev. G. P. Hunt officiated, and Miss Nancy Whitlock played the wedding music. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore ivory georgette and cire lace, and embroidered brussels net veil held with orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of lilies, roses, and fern. Miss E. Child, Taumarunui, in parchment lace, and blue sash, with wide picture hat, was bridesmaid. Her arm shower was composed of blue delphiniums. Mr. R. L. Dennis supported the bridegroom.
A reception was held at the Rendezvous, where Mr. Dennis and Mrs. W. Andrew, the latter wearing black and white silk spotted marocain and black hat, received the guests. ■When Mr. and Mrs. Andrew lefl. the latter wore a blue floral frock and plain blue coat and hat.
