KILLED BY LIGHTNING
Man and Young Nephew Sydney, January 4. Geoffrey Parkins, 38, . and his nephew, William Reece, 12, were struck dead bj' lightning while sheltering under a tree during a violent storm at Walgett. A Melbourne message states tliat despite the fact that it was raining heavily, the first station at Creswick was burned to the ground after being struck b; .lightning. The observation tower was also destroyed.
