LIFE LOST IN SURF
Wellington Man Drowned By Telegraph.—Press dissociation. Dunedin, December 30. Leonard Alfred Appleton, single, aged 28, was drowned in the surf at St. Kilda beach this afternoon. He was carried out of his depth, and being unable to swim was drowneff before assistance could be obtained'. Mr. Appleton was employed by a Wellington patent medicine firm, and was a visitor to Dunedin. The body has not yet been recovered.
