THE DUBLIN PROGRAMME. Tho following is tbo athletic programme for the Tailteann Games, which are to be held in Dublin from August 11 to August 26, 1928:—100 metres Hat; 200 metres flat; 400 metres flat; 800 metres Hat; 1500 metres Hat; four miles Hat, open to four competitors from each country, 23 miles marathon, open to six competitors from each country; 110 metres hurdles, height 1.067 metres; 400 metres hurdles, height 1.067 metres; 3800 metres cross-country, open to teams or individuals, six may compete for a team, four to count in allocation ol points; 1600 metres relay i;ncc, teams ot four, each competitor to run 400 metres ; standing broad jump; standing high jump; standing three jumps; running broad jump; running high jump; running hop,. step, and jump; pole jump; putting 161 b. shot; pushing 281 b., with follow -, slinging o6Jb. for height over bar, one hand; shngmg 561 b. JjPveen legs, without follow, one l6lb. hammer from 7ft. throwing discus, free style; throwing javelin, free style; two mile walking race; decathlon: 100 metres Hat, -100 metres flat, 1500 metres flat, 110 metres hurdles, running high jump, running broad jump, running hop, step and jump, putting 161 b. shot, throwing 161 b. hammer from 7ft. circle,.and .slinging 561 b. weight between legs, without follow (ono hand). . , ~ . , . Competitors will include the pick of the world's athletes, who will go on to Dublin after participating in the Olympic Games at Amsterdam. Other important sections, in which there will also be international candidates, will be boxing, swimming, rowing, motorcycling, golf, hurling and football, as well as art and literature.
