LEPROSY RELIEF ASSOCIATION

4 PREVENTIVE MEASURES (Rec. February 26, 11.5 p.m.) London, February 25. The annual report of the British Empire Leprosy Relief Association states that there are eighty lepers in Australia. Sir Leonard Rogers at the meeting maintained, despite criticism, that leprosv was curable in the early stages if treated with hvdnocarpus oil. He declared that 80 per cent, of the probable infections could be detected and cleared up in the early stages in countries sufficiently advanced to carry out the simple plan of examining households and close contacts of all lepers every six months for five years.
