NURSE CAVELL FILM
PRIVATE EXHIBITION BANNED ALBERT HALL REFUSED London,' February 26. Another surprise has occurred in connection with the “Dawn” film. The picture was to be shown privately at the Albert Hall on Tuesday before a large audience invited, including prominent people and ex-service men. There were sixty thousand applicants for admission. The Albert Hall authorities have notified the promoter that the film cannot be shown, the London County Council having intimated that their permission must be obtained. Dlr. Wilcox, the promoter, states that lie did not know that permission was necessary in the case of a private show. He will apply without delay. The clerk of the L.C.C. states that films which have not passed the censor must be submitted. “We had no option in forbidding ‘Dawn’ under the circumstances.”
