FARMERS AGAINST TRADE AGREEMENT Vancouver, February 24. A resolution that the Western Canada Livestock Union and National Dairy Council of Canada be advised by the Federal Government before another trade agreement be entered into with Australia was adopted on Friday at the annual convention of the livestock organisation, which agreed that the Canadian Government was committed to the present policy regarding the Australian Trade Agreement. One delegate was emphatic that the Canadian farmer required protection on butter, and declared: “If you want to encourage settlement in Western Canada, for God’s sake let New Zealand take care of herself.”
