A party of Invercargill motorists found themselves the other day in one of the most awkward positions it would be possible to find (savs Hie "Southland Tinies”). Having motored to Sandv Point, thev left the car in what they thought a suitable place and walked on. Returning in about an hour’s time, they found the car. which was a heavy one, already embedded in the sand to the axles. Nothing they could do would move it. At last one of the members ran four miles, and finally succeeded in prevailing on some five er six men to come to their aid. It took fully three-quarters of an hour of feverish work to get the car finally to a safe place.
