WEEK-END RAILWAY EXCURSION
The popularity of flic week-end excursions organised by the Railway Department was again demonstrated by the large number who travelled on fhe Na-pier-Wellington special on Saturday. The visitors spent the evening on arrival at Hie capital city in visiting friends and attending various places of amusement. A large number visited the seaside resorts on Sunday, and when travelling on tho return journey the pasfeongors spoke enthusiastically of the general arrangements made for their comfort and enjoyment. The Palmerston North-L’aekakariki trip was also well patronised, over 200 going from Palmerston North alone, while a large number joined tho train en route. The passengers spoke appreciatively of the general arrangements.
