MOTORIST CHARGED

WOMAN FOUND INJURED BY Telegraph.—press association. Hawera. February 25. While driving along the Main South Road, near Mokoia, about 7 o’clock last evening, a motorist found Millicent Elizabeth Richter, wife of a local farmer, lying unconscious on the side of tl. road. A short distance away was a stationary car. The woman was admitted to the hospital suffering from head injuries, and was reported this morning to be in an extremely grave condition. As the result of police inquiries George Cracy Smith, a stock agent, of Hawera, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with being intoxicated while in charge of a car and with negligent driving, thereby causing serious injury to Mrs. Richter. Accused was remanded for a week and admitted to bail of £lOO and two sureties of £5O.
