WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD

NEW MEMBER WELCOMED. Wanganui, February 15. The Wanganui Education Board met to-night. Mr. W. A. Collins presided. The chairman extended a welcome to Mr. H. Oram, the new member representing Palmerston North. Dr. Elizabeth Gunn reported that tooth-brush drill in schools was not being maintained as it should be, and that organised lunch hours were not the rule in some schools as they might be. The board decided to send out circulars to schools regarding the matters. The following resignations were received:—Miss M. Boland, assistant, Halcombo; Miss M. Ferens, assistant, Wanganui East; Mr. C. H. Davey, assistant, Manchester Street. The following have been appointed probationery assistants: —Flora A. Lloyd, Castlecliff; Florence M. Dommett, Marton Junction; Basil A. Rodgers, Palmerston North Central; Donald M. Scott, liougotea; Earle F. C. llextatl, Tawhero; Veronica M. Shale, Gonville.
