MILES’DISQUALIFIED FOR BIG HANDICAP (Rcc. February 12, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, February 12. For allegedly setting out incorrect performances in his entry, the sprinter Miles,, who defeated Banner in the 75 and 220 yards events for the World’s sprint title, has been disqualified by the protest committee from further competing in the forthcoming .£lOOO handicap. MHes explained that his performances were compiled by a friend acting for him. He had made a mistake, but had no intention to deceive. The committee decided to permit Banner o compete in the forthcoming 100 and 120 yards world’s championbsip events.
