PROFESSIONAL TITLE OF AUSTRALIA BURNS DEFEATS MACLAREN (Kec. February 12, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, February 12. In the challenge race for the Australian professional sculling title, Burns, the holder, easily defeated MacLaren, who stopped at the end of the second mile. Burns, making the pace a cracker, led from the jump. MacLaren began to show signs of distress at. a mile and a halt, and at two miles collapsed and was picked up by the official boat. Burns continued and finished the course of three miles 170 yards in 17min. Msec.
