COMPULSORY MEDICAL INSPECTION

A. strong plea on behalf of a suggested remit to, the Municipal Conference proposing that there should be a compulsory annual inspection of persons over 40 years of age, was made by- Councillor Carr at last night's meeting of the City Council. Tbe remit had been considered by the by-laws committee, which did not recommend that it be sent to the conference. Councillor Carr, in reply, said that tli% proposal was only a beginning, and he believed that if it were adopted it would be a means of nipping in the bud a good deal of disTlie remit was adopted by , 9 votes to 7 in the following form: “That, m the ’interests of public health, legislation be sought providing for a medical inspection annually of every person in the Dominion of over 40 years of age.”
