ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the District Council of the - Workers’ Educational Association was held on Friday last. There was a record attendance of delegates, and all the offices were keenly contested except that of president, for which Mr. F. D. Cornwell was unanimously elected. Mr. J. McCullum was elected vice-president, and Mr. J. Read was re-elected to the position of secre-tary-treasurer. For the joint positions of Executive Committee and W.E.A. representatives on the Tutorial Classes Committee the following were elected: —Mrs. E. Maslen, Messrs. 51. J. Forde, A. T. McAlpin, and P. E. Warner. The delegates appointed to attend the annual Dominion conference were Mrs. E. Alaslen, slessrs. M. J. Forde, and 51. O’Kane. , The Wellington representative for the Dominion Council for the year is Mr. J. Read. It was decided by the council to alter the name of the district from “Wellington district” to “Victoria College district.” Gratification was expressed by delegates at the continued progress of the W.E.A., which touched high water-mark for the past session, an dthe prospects for the coming session were stated to be more promising than ever.
